NET had a problem in 2010, they were losing local underwriting support for national children's programming. It was largely blamed on the recession and corporate reduction of marketing budgets. But this lost revenue was a vital to keeping these programs on the air. Our solution, give the underwriters more bang for their buck. I used the PBS kids toolkit to create custom underwriting spots to entice renewing underwriters as well as attract new ones. All of underwriters we gained during this time remain with us today.
